These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Spines mobile application (the “App”), operated by Spines (“we”, “our”, or “us”). By using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Using the App

  • You may use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.
  • You agree not to misuse the App, attempt unauthorized access, or interfere with the service.

2. Accounts

  • You may need an account to access certain features.
  • You are responsible for activity under your account.

3. Scans and AI Output

  • The App uses AI to identify books from photos of shelves. Results may be imperfect.
  • You are responsible for verifying details before making purchase decisions.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

  • Some features require a paid subscription (“Premium”).
  • Subscriptions are billed through the App Store and automatically renew unless canceled.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device’s App Store settings.
  • Refunds are handled according to Apple’s policies.

5. Apple App Store Additional Terms

  • These Terms are between you and Spines, not Apple.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
  • Apple is not responsible for claims relating to the App, including product liability, regulatory compliance, or consumer protection claims.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third‑party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

6. Intellectual Property

The App and its content are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy or redistribute the App without permission.

7. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App means you accept the updated Terms.
